Exclusive Interview
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in England in Worthing Sussex; a typical English boy. Then my parents took us on an adventure, and I became Australian!

What influenced you to get into music?
I sang before I became a prolific writer of engaging and catchy tunes. My parents had records by Elvis Presley, Shirley Bassey and the record South Pacific! Despite these tremendous blows to musical variety and hipness, I began to follow the Beatles and this led to an enormous love of progressive rock, but also pop-rock. My first concert was 10CC. My love of music led to me beginning my writing journey at 21.

How did Stomp City come about?
Stomp City is really a product of my solo gigging-career! I tried to punch out a really rocky beat with my foot, with my Bigfoot stompbox. I love the idea of a big  beat, a real groove and some solid guitar.

What is the music scene like in Rockhampton, Australia?
Rockhampton has some talent, but it's a country area and probably best for someone like me to retire in. I will travel and greet the rest of the world, after my Voyager, double album, is released.

What is a songwriting session like for you?

Each session is different  and although I write lyrics almost daily, my song-writing  is often capturing bits and pieces of  ideas digitally, and then completing the song on another session. I often will write with a beat these days and can usually complete a song in one session. Occasionally, I will browse my thousands of dormant lyrics and open a page and suddenly a song is born, bringing a set of lyrics to life, with sound... it's wonderful!

Do you write songs for other artists?
I haven't yet written for other artists. However, with a catalogue of close to 1000 songs, I am happy to share, or even write something new, for an artist.

Where do you record?
At home, I have a little lilac music room; it's full of instruments, some of which I can play! It's also full of ideas and love and lyrics and music.

Do you perform live often?
Recently, I have performed very little...I am rehearsing for my new show, which will be with a five piece band; it's my debut-double album, Voyager. On the album will be 24 tracks, two of these are covers...

Tell us about your latest project.
My current project is my debut album, Voyager. On the album will be 24 tracks, two of these are covers... The  album's first two singles: Voyager and I Know You, are selling steadily, not breaking any records, but both songs have been well-received. My producer is excellent Jonathan Woods,  from Premier Song Productions.

What can we expect from you in the future?
I have 5 more albums planned out, the songs  just need to be produced. I have many songs.
